WHY YOU NEED A LEVEL 2 ELECTRICIAN IN NEWCASTLE
In NSW, not every electrician is authorised to work on the electrical supply to your property. A Level 2 Accredited Service Provider (ASP) is licensed to work on the service line, metering and connection between your premises and the network. If the issue sits before your switchboard (service line, point of attachment, meter, consumer mains), you need a Level 2 electrician - not an every day sparkie.
WHAT A LEVEL 2 ELECTRICIAN IS AUTHORISED TO DO
Disconnect / reconnect supply at the point of attachment
Repair or replace service lines (overhead or underground)
Repair/relocate the point of attachment and service brackets
Upgrade consumer mains and main earthing to modern standards
Metering work
Clear electrical defect notices issued by the network or inspector
Private power poles - install, repair or replace
If it involves the line into your property, the meter box, or the cables feeding your switchboard, it’s Level 2 work.
